Tauck Partners Compagnie Du Ponant For Southeast Asian Cruise

American travel and river cruise operator Tauck has teamed up again with French small-ship cruise line Compagnie du Ponant to offer a new 16-day Southeast Asian land and sea itinerary in October and November 2013. Taking place aboard the new Le Soleal, scheduled to launch this summer in Italy, the journey explores the metropolises of Hong Kong and Singapore together with an in-depth look at emerging Vietnam.

Beginning with accommodations at the Kowloon Shangri-La, travellers are taken on a guided sightseeing journey of Hong Kong before boarding Le Soleal to spend 11 days cruising the South China Sea. Ports of call include Haiphong, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City, where passengers disembark for excursions to explore Hanoi, Halong Bay, experience daily life in Vietnam as the guest of a local farmer and shopping in Ho Chi Minh City. Arriving in Singapore, travellers will spend 2 nights at the architecturally-inspiring Marina Bay Sands and learn about the rich multicultural history of the city-state.

Currently in the final stages of construction at Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, Le Soleal is the latest addition to the fleet of luxury yachts operated by Compagnie du Ponant. Accommodating just 264 passengers, she offers a refined, intimate atmosphere with contemporary staterooms and suites, 2 restaurants, 3 lounges and a small theatre together with a small fitness area and massage room. Le Soleal’s small size also enables her to reach ports and waters that bigger vessels cannot navigate, where her onboard Zodiac crafts can be deployed for expedition-like outings.

Southbound departures for the new itinerary from Hong Kong are scheduled for 28 October 2013 and 19 November 2013. A reverse itinerary departing Singapore is set for 8 November 2013.
