SuperStar Libra Rejoins Star Cruises Fleet After Refurbishment

Asian cruise line Star Cruises has announced the return of its 1,480-passenger SuperStar Libra to Penang following a month-long refurbishment. Homeporting in the Malaysian city, the ship will resume sailing her popular short itineraries and operate 2 special 7-day cruises calling in Yangon.

New Identity, Shopping At Sea

Sporting new hull art depicting the zodiac scale lifted by a soaring dove amidst a sea of four leaf clovers, the ship now offers restyled accommodation and upgraded dining, entertainment and recreational venues. New onboard and a key highlight for cruisers is the newly-incorporated retail area featuring outlets from China Duty Free, wristwatch and jewellery boutique Canopus and gold specialty shop Eternal Elements.

Southern Thailand and Myanmar Voyages

SuperStar Libra’s 4-day Phuket and Krabi sailings will continue to depart Penang every Sunday, together with 1-night cruise to nowhere departures. The highlight of her season will be 2 special voyages calling at Yangon, marking Star Cruises’ return to Myanmar after 10 years. Departing Penang on 26 May and 11 August 2013, the ship visits Krabi before continuing north to Myanmar’s largest city and returning via Phuket. Passengers will also spend 2 days at sea, allowing for ample time to enjoy SuperStar Libra’s refreshed facilities.

Star Cruises currently operates a fleet of 5 ships from various Asian homeports, including SuperStar Virgo from Singapore, SuperStar Aquarius from Sanya, SuperStar Gemini from Shanghai, SuperStar Libra from Penang and the Star Pisces from Hong Kong.
