Easyjet Launches Moscow Flights

European low cost carrier Easyjet looks east towards Russia for growth, launching flights to Moscow (Domodedovo) from London (Gatwick), its 100th route out of the airport. The airline will also begin flights to the Russian capital from Manchester later this month, giving travellers more flight options.


London (Gatwick) – Moscow (Domodedovo)

Departing London at 0700 hrs daily, flight U2 8401 arrives in Moscow at 1350 hrs before returning as flight U2 8402 at 1430 hrs for a 1540 hrs arrival back in the UK. From 15 April 2013, Easyjet will add a second flight, U2 8403, taking off from London (Gatwick) at 1410 hrs and landing at Moscow (Domodedovo) at 2100 hrs, with the return flight U2 8404 departing Russia at 2140 hrs and landing back at London (Gatwick) at 2250 hrs.


Manchester – Moscow (Domodedovo)

Flight U2 1871 will depart Manchester at 0740 hrs on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving in Moscow at 1435 hrs. The return flight, U2 1872, takes off from Moscow (Domodedovo) at 1515 hrs for a 1625 hrs landing at Manchester International Airport.


On Mondays and Thursdays, flight U2 1873 is wheels up from Manchester at 1340 hrs to touch down in Moscow at 2035 hrs. Returning as flight U2 1874 at 2115 hrs, the aircraft lands back at London (Gatwick) at 2225 hrs.


Easyjet will operate a 180-seat Airbus A320 jet on both routes. The low cost carrier joins legacy airlines British Airways, Aeroflot and Transaero in serving the route and is expected to shake up the market for travel between both European capitals.
