Wizz Air To Expand Into Dubai

Eastern European low cost carrier Wizz Air has announced an upcoming expansion into Dubai, with plans to link the emirate with Bucharest, Budapest, Kiev and Sofia using its fleet of 180-seat Airbus A320 jets. When the flights are launched in late October 2013, the airline will also become one of the first carriers to operate at the new Al Maktoum International Airport.


Bucharest – Dubai (Al Maktoum)

Beginning 29 October 2013, flight W6 3255 will take off from Henri Coanda International Airport at 1430 hrs, landing at Al Maktoum International Airport at 2120 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The aircraft turns around to operate the return flight W6 3256, departing Dubai at 2155 hrs and arriving back in Bucharest at 0105 hrs the next day.


Budapest – Dubai (Al Maktoum)

Wizz Air will fly 4 times weekly from Budapest to Dubai from 28 October 2013. Flight W6 2497 will depart the Hungarian capital at 1140 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, arriving in Dubai at 2005 hrs, returning as flight W6 2498 at 2040 hrs for a 2340 hrs landing back at Ferenc Lizst International Airport.


Kiev (Zhulyany) – Dubai (Al Maktoum)

Operating 4 times weekly from 28 October 2013, Wizz Air flight WU 6021 will take off from Kiev (Zhulyany) at 0615 hrs every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, landing at Al Maktoum International Airport at 1310 hrs. The return flight, WU 6022, departs Dubai at 1345 hrs to arrive back in Kiev at 1700 hrs.


Sofia – Dubai (Al Maktoum)

Connecting the Bulgarian capital 3 times weekly with Dubai, flight W6 4429 will depart Sofia Airport at 1230 hrs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Dubai at 1925 hrs. On the return leg, flight W6 4430 takes off from Al Maktoum International Airport at 2000 hrs and lands back in Sofia at 2320 hrs.
