Capella Enters USA With Washington DC Opening

Luxury hoteliers Capella Hotel Group (formerly known as West Paces Hotel Group) has announced the opening of the Capella Washington DC Georgetown, a 49-room property set in the heart of historic Georgetown. The hotel lies beside the quaint C&O Canal and enjoys easy access to the capital city’s museums and galleries, specialty shopping and dining addresses.

Designed with an emphasis on tasteful, exquisite details, the guestrooms and suites feature original artwork, handcrafted European paneling and upholstery to create a chic and sophisticated space. Ample living and relaxing spaces are complemented by modern comforts including plush bedding, spacious bathrooms with glass-enclosed rainforest shower, high-definition LCD television, high-speed internet access, sitting area with workdesk, refreshment center, Illy espresso machine and tea selection.

Culinary offerings are set to elevate the neighbourhood’s dining scene with The Grill Room, helmed by Swedish chef Jakob Esko and The Rye Bar. The former is modeled after a traditional continental grill specializing in hand-cut meats, fresh seafood and table-side service, while rare rye whiskeys, specialty cocktails and bar snacks are complemented by hand-harvested ice at the latter.

Private functions and intimate gatherings can be held at the Capella Washington DC Georgetown’s rooftop lounge or private dining room, while the executive boardroom accommodates up to 14 guests for closed-door meetings. Recreation options include a relaxation pool, an array of fitness equipment available at the rooftop fitness centre, as well as the option for guests to arrange for in-room spa treatments with their dedicated Personal Assistants.

Capella Washington DC Georgetown joins sister properties in Cabo San Lucas, Dusseldorf, Ixtapa and Singapore. The group is also poised to add hotels and resorts in Bangkok, Niseko and Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
