Sapphire Princess To Homeport In Singapore For Winter 2014

Leading premium cruise line Princess Cruises has announced the deployment of the 116,000-GRT Sapphire Princess to Singapore, in response to growing interest for cruising in Southeast Asia. During her 4-month stay in the region, the ship will offer 15 roundtrip departures ranging from 3 to 11 days that can be combined for 25 distinct itineraries of up to 21 days in duration and calling at 16 ports in 7 countries.

Cruisers will take in the sights of major metropolises including Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, as well as idyllic resort getaways such as Bali, Koh Samui, Langkawi, Lombok and Penang. Complementing the voyages are an array of shore excursions for passengers to experience the unique cultures and experiences the region has to offer.

Highlights of Sapphire Princess’ deployment include a 10-day Indonesia sailing departing 15 January 2015, visiting Bali, Jakarta, Lombok and Komodo Island, home to the legendary Komodo Dragon. An 11-day Southeast Asia itinerary with departures on 27 November and 18 December 2014 calls at Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Thailand’s Bangkok and Koh Samui, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang in Vietnam.

Onboard the ship, passengers can expect the same cruise experience found on Princess Cruises’ vessels around the world, including The Sanctuary, an exclusive top deck retreat and the popular Movies Under the Stars poolside theatre. The line will tailor several aspects on Sapphire Princess, such as dining options and multi-lingual crew members, to cater for regional preferences.

Sapphire Princess joins a list of Princess Cruises ships that have sailed Asian waters in recent years, including the Diamond Princess, Sea Princess and Sun Princess. Her deployment comes as the line prepares to welcome its new flagship, Royal Princess, this summer promises new features and onboard attractions.
