Malaysia Airlines A380 Now Flying Kuala Lumpur – Hong Kong

Malaysia Airlines continues to expand the flying network of its flagship Airbus A380 aircraft, with the commencement of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. The superjumbo replaces the smaller Airbus A330-300 operating flight MH 072/073 and represents a significant capacity increase for the airline.

Passengers flying the route can now experience the airline’s newest product offering onboard. Configured in a 3-class layout, the aircraft features 8 First Class, 66 Business Class and 420 Economy Class seats, with power supply and USB connectivity to every seat.

Flight MH 072 departs Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 0915 hrs, arriving into Hong Kong at 1305 hrs. The return flight, MH 073, takes off from Hong Kong International Airport at 1445 hrs and lands back in Kuala Lumpur at 1825 hrs.

The carrier is looking to capitalize on its membership in the Oneworld alliance, relying on fellow member Cathay Pacific for traffic feed. Malaysia Airlines’ decision to deploy the A380 to Hong Kong follows regional rivals Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways, both of which fly their superjumbos to the city daily between long-haul sectors.
