China’s Century Cruises Launches New River Cruiser

Chinese river cruise line Century Cruises has launched its new, 398-passenger vessel Century Legend. Designed for the western traveller in collaboration with European naval architects Yran & Storbratten, the ship is the seventh addition to the line’s fleet operating on the Yangtze River and a sister to the recently launched Century Paragon.

The luxurious accommodations, comprising 156 Riverview Staterooms, 4 Junior Suites, 34 Executive Suites and 2 Presidential Suites, offer private balconies and amenities including plush bedding, ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower, separate sitting area and flatscreen televisions. Onboard dining can be had at the Panoramic Restaurant, serving international fare in a contemporary setting, while Executive Club and Presidential Suite guests also enjoy exclusive access to the A La Carte restaurant, bar and reception area.

Stylish public areas on the Century Legend make the ship as much an attraction as the waters she sails on. A large, multipurpose function room host conferences, events, evening performances and guest lectures, with a 150-seat high-definition cinema with multi-lingual capabilities and wi-fi service. The Library offers a spot of privacy, while exterior elevators and an indoor swimming pool and leisure area showcase the best of the ship.

Cruising between Chongqing and Yichang, Century Legend will offer 4-day downstream and 5-day upstream itineraries. She will call at Shibao Pagoda, the Three Gorges of Daning River and visit the magnificent Three Gorges Dam. The voyage will also include a transit of the dam’s lock systems.

Century Cruises is headquartered in Chongqing and today operates a fleet of 7 river cruise ships on China’s Yangtze River.
