Flydubai Introduces Business Class, New Economy Catering

Low cost carrier Flydubai has revealed it will introduce business class services across its network of 60 destinations. The announcement marks a radical move away from the all-economy class business model it has adopted since its inception and changes the game for the region’s airlines.

    Business Class

The airline will take delivery of its first Boeing 737-800 jet configured with 12 recliner seats upholstered in soft Italian leather with lumbar support and a seat pitch of 42 inches in August 2013. The product will also encompass a seatback entertainment system offering over 900 hours of movies, music and games via a 12.1-inch high-definition touchscreen monitor. A selection of light refreshments (for short-haul routes) and 3-course Halal meal options (for flights of 90 minutes or longer) will be available onboard.

On the ground, passengers can utilize priority check-in at Dubai International Airport Terminal 2, with a lounge facility opening later this year. A dedicated business team will be available throughout the clock to attend and assist passengers, who will enjoy priority baggage collection upon arrival at their destination.

    Meal Pre-Orders in Economy Class

In economy class, Flydubai is planning to offer passengers new dining options. Passengers will soon be able to pre-select and order their meals online up to 48 hours prior to departure, enabling them more choice and providing the airline with an additional revenue stream.
