Emirates Forays Into Private Jet Market

Aviation heavyweight Emirates has made its foray into the luxury private jet market. The Dubai-based airline is now taking bookings for its new Emirates Executive service to capitalize on increased demand from China, India, Russia and the Middle East.

 

A new Airbus A319 jet is available for private charter by up to 19 passengers. Complete with gold and marble trimmings, the aircraft features 10 private bedrooms that ups the ante on Emirates’ popular First Class suites. Each bedroom comes with its own shower spa, floor heating system and decorative mirror screen printing.

 

A lounge and dining room is furnished for social meetings with 2 large sofas around 42-inch televisions showing up to 1,500 channels of on-demand entertainment. For passengers who need to continue working during their flight, the jet offers a separate work area is equipped with high-speed internet, mobile phone connectivity and video conferencing facilities.

 

The lucrative premium executive flying market has proved alluring to airlines, with many opting for partnerships with business jet operators or setting up their own operations. Emirates joins regional rival Qatar Airways in offering executive jet services, leaving Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways the last of the region’s big 3 in this market.
