Now Open: Andaz Maui

Following an authentic Hawaiian blessing ceremony presided over by cultural practitioner Kahuna Nui Kapono’ai Molitau, the new Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort & Spa officially opened and welcomed its first guests. The 10th hotel to join the brand and the first Andaz located in a resort destination, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort & Spa is designed by the award-winning Rockwell Group to reflect the simplicity and beauty of its lush surroundings, using a palette of natural materials that reflect the warmth of Hawaiian hospitality.

Guests are welcomed by an awe-inspiring entryway bridge of glowing Ambrato stone, framed in mahogany over an infinity-edge pool. Inside, the airy Andaz Lounge features a pitched roof with natural sunlight, accented by a central sandpit and views of multiple infinity-edge swimming pools with the picturesque beaches of Wailea.

The resort’s accommodations, comprising 290 spacious guestrooms and suites, as well as 7 luxurious villas with 2 to 4 bedrooms, were designed to blend the Andaz style with Wailea’s local beaches and the ocean. Each is furnished with custom-designed furniture including platform beds with side tables in a walnut finish and teak wood slat vanities, open-plan bathrooms with shuttered wooden screens in a white-washed oak finish and lava stone flooring, 40-inch flatscreen television, complimentary high-speed internet access, dual-line telephones, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

Andaz Maui at Wailea’s dining offering promises to be an assembly of some of the brightest talents in the culinary world. Acclaimed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto lends his culinary direction to the seamless integration of Japanese, Western and Hawaiian traditions at Morimoto Maui, while Ka’ana Kitchen’s residential-style setting offers views of the infinity-edge swimming pool, lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. 2 poolside cocktail lounges, Bumbye Beach Bar and Lehua Lounge, offer hand-crafted cocktail creations from New York mixologist and Hawaiian native Julie Reiner. A 24-hour market is fully stocked with local snacks and beverages from the Hawaiian Islands.

Meeting and event planners will find nearly 1,400 square meters of elegant indoor and outdoor event space at their disposal. These include 5 indoor Andaz Studios designed in a residential seaside style and 3 outdoor beachfront event lawns with unparalleled ocean views and the pristine Mokapu Beach steps away. Complementing the function space is the Awili Spa and Salon, which is conceived as a Hawaiian apothecary to incorporate indigenous herbs in the custom treatments, with other facilities including a private adult spa pool and 24-hour fitness centre. Beyond the resort, dedicated hosts can assist guests in planning offsite and beachside experiential excursions that will immerse guests in the local culture.
