Scoot To Add Perth To Network

Low cost carrier Scoot has unveiled Perth as its third Australian destination, with direct flights 5 times a week between Singapore and the Western Australia capital beginning 19 December 2013.

Flight TZ 008 will depart Singapore at 1250 hrs every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Perth at 1820 hrs. Returning as flight TZ 007, the 2-class Boeing 777-200ER jet takes off from Perth International Airport at 1930 hrs, landing back at Changi International Airport at 0045 hrs the next day.

Scoot’s fleet of refurbished aircraft have room for 368 passengers, with 32 in the ScootBiz business class cabin and extra-legroom Stretch and Super seats in addition to standard Economy Class seating. The airline has recently leased a sixth B777 from parent Singapore Airlines to meet its capacity requirements until the arrival of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, although this jet will retain its original configuration.

The addition of Perth to the Scoot network will serve to consolidate its position (and that of affiliates Singapore Airlines and Tigerair) in Australia, where it also flies to Sydney and the Gold Coast. With Qantas reducing international services out of Perth, the airline’s entry will move to meet the demand from Perth-based travellers and offer onward connections to Northeast Asia (another focus area) via Singapore.
