Regal Princess To Arrive Early, 2 New Sailings Added

Premium cruise line Princess Cruises has announced that the new Regal Princess will make her debut in 2014 earlier than scheduled. Construction of the ship, a sister to the Royal Princess which joined the fleet earlier this year, is progressing well in Italy and allows for Princess Cruises to add 2 new sailings to her inaugural season.

Passengers can select from a new 7-day cruise from Venice to Athens departing 20 May 2014 (Regal Princess’ new maiden voyage) with calls in Corfu, Mykonos and an overnight stay in Istanbul. In the opposite direction, she will sail a 6-day Athens to Venice voyage on 27 May 2014, stopping in Kusadasi, Santorini, Katakolon and Dubrovnik. Both sailings can be combined into a 13-day Grand Adventure or added on to the previously announced 2 June 2014 cruise for a full 20-day Mediterranean escape.

The ship will spend her inaugural summer season sailing in the Mediterranean, offering itineraries ranging from 7- to 17-days. She then repositions across the Atlantic Ocean to Fort Lauderdale in October 2014 to cruise the Caribbean in the winter.

20 percent larger than previous Princess Cruises ships, Regal Princess will accommodate up to 3,560 passengers across her 17 decks. She shares several groundbreaking features with the Royal Princess, including the spectacular “SeaWalk” cantilevered off her side.
