Now Open: Cheval Blanc Randheli

Cheval Blanc, the luxury boutique hotel arm of French conglomerate LVMH, has opened the new Cheval Blanc Randheli, one of the most anticipated new openings in the Maldives. Partnering celebrated designer Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, the resort is a highly intimate, yet dynamic, contemporary and lively 45-villa haven on the unspoiled Noonu Atoll located 40 minutes by seaplane north of Malé.

Elegant, refined and designed for island barefoot living, the property is inspired by the life travels of Jean-Michel and natural elements of sun, sand and sea. Incorporated into the architecture, lofty cathedral-style ceilings framed by 7-meter high doors allow natural light and views, complemented by furnishings made from teak, rattan, bamboo, leather, bronze, thatch, coconut and shells. A vivid colour palette of white, taupe and oyster grey with splashes of pop yellow and green complement, while a collection of 45 sculptural colour “spots” by artist Vincent Beaurin make each villa truly individual.

French tradition fuses with creativity at the maison’s 5 restaurants, including the signature venue Le 1947, contemporary brasserie White and the La Table de Partage private dining room. Diptyque offers the best of Japanese and Iberian cuisines, while the daily catch is presented at the Deelani fish restaurant. 3 bars serve outstanding wines, champagnes and spirits paired with the finest cigars in varied indoor and outdoor settings.

Unique experiences are crafted by Cheval Blanc Randheli’s “Experience Alchemists”, who have a fleet of specially-crafted, traditional dhoni boats, water sports and a PADI-certified dive centre at their disposal. For a more tranquil experience, the Cheval Blanc Spa with exclusive signature treatments by Guerlain is housed in a 6-villa complex, while the hammam and swimming pool, as well as the resort grounds and private white sand beach offer dramatic venues for yoga, pilates and general relaxation.

The second Cheval Blanc Maison in the world, Cheval Blanc Randheli follows its sister property in Courchevel, France. A further 3 maisons are under development in Egypt, Oman and Paris, promising iconic design and exceptional service.
