Tigerair Announces Maldives Flights From 2014

Singapore-based low cost carrier Tigerair has announced it will launch flights from the city-state to Maldives next year. When it begins services on 24 January 2014 with 4 flights each week, the airline will become the first and only no-frills airline to fly the Singapore – Male route.

Flight TR 2502 will depart Changi International Airport at 0950 hrs every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving at Male Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 1125 hrs. The return flight, TR 2503, takes off from Male at 1215 hrs to land back in Singapore at 1940 hrs.

The flight timings will allow Tigerair to benefit from connections in Singapore off its regional network as well as passenger feed off fellow low cost carrier Scoot. Tigerair will fly a 180-seat Airbus A320 on the route, targeted at holidaymakers.

Tigerair’s announcement offers travellers additional choice when flying to the Maldives. The airline joins Singapore Airlines on the route, offering a combined 17 flights each week.
