Air China Offers Peking Duck Inflight

Premium passengers flying with Air China can now enjoy authentic “Peking Duck” onboard. The Star Alliance member has partnered renowned Beijing institution Quanjude to offer the signature dish as part of its First Class dining on long-haul flights to Europe and the USA.

 

The airline and restaurant undertook an extensive development process encompassing preparation using inflight equipment and service methods, with flight attendants learning more about Quanjude’s heritage, the roasting process and dish presentation. Culminating in a Peking Duck-specific menu, the airline aims to offer an authentic dining experience while also educating passengers on the historic origins of the dish.

 

The onboard “Peking Duck” continues Air China’s inflight menu innovations to introduce classic Chinese and international dining to its flights. The Beijing-based carrier has identified dining as a key aspect of service quality and is committed to improving its product and service offering in the sky. Passengers may also enjoy signature meals such as “Crab Meat Dumplings” and “Steak with Mushrooms in Cream” on long-haul services.

 

Air China is currently in a push to expand its presence beyond China and Asia towards the West. The airline now operates multiple frequencies using its flagship Boeing 777-300ER jets to Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, with flights to Hawaii set to begin in early 2014.
