Now Open: Waldorf Astoria Beijing

Hilton Worldwide celebrated the opening of China’s second Waldorf Astoria hotel, amidst the brand’s continued international expansion.

Located in the heart of the city on the former site of Xianliang Temple, notably the permanent residence of Li Hongzhang, the first Chinese guest to stay at the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York, the new Waldorf Astoria Beijing is 27 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, 2.5 kilometers from Beijing Railway Station and within walking distance of the Dengshikou Subway Station. Guests enjoy convenient access to the city’s shopping, business and cultural districts.

An expression of its unique location, local splendour blends with timeless elegance with interiors crafted by design studio Yabu Pushelberg. A multi-million dollar art collection adds a touch of beauty and culture that is unparalleled. 176 luxuriously appointed guestrooms and suites are spread across 2 magnificent buildings with varying styles. The bronze main hotel tower will transform its colour as it ages, while the Waldorf Hutong Villas housing 3 Hutong studios and a room with private courtyard entrances bear the elements of ancient Imperial China, providing a breathtaking scene to behold.

3 unique restaurants offer refined dining options to guests and residents. Brasserie 1893 stands out with its central show kitchen and chef’s table for a highly interactive dining experience, while the luxurious Zijin Mansion blends eastern cuisine with western wines, pairing Beijing-influenced Cantonese dishes with over 400 old- and new-world vintages. The intimate Peacock Alley is inspired by the grand social promenade that connected the original Waldorf and Astoria hotels in New York, with the extensive menu featuring many classic and lesser known drinks, including the “Bronx”, “FDR Martini” and the “Rob Roy”.

796 square meters of function meeting space provide spectacular venues for business meetings, product launches or intimate gatherings. For leisure, the hotel offers a spa and fitness center with heated indoor swimming pool.

Waldorf Astoria Beijing joins Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund as the brand’s portfolio expands in China and Asia. Globally, there are now over 25 properties under the Waldorf Astoria flag, including the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York.
