Jetstar Drops Auckland For Fukuoka

Australian low cost carrier Jetstar has elected to adjust its flying network from Singapore, launching a new Fukuoka service and dropping the current Auckland flight.

Daily Singapore – Bangkok – Fukuoka

Beginning 26 June 2014, flight 3K509 departs Singapore at 2250 hrs, arriving in Bangkok at 0020 hrs the next day, before taking off again at 0215 hrs for a 0930 hrs arrival into Fukuoka. The return flight, 3K510, takes off from Fukuoka at 1030 hrs, landing at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 1415 hrs (Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays) / 1410 hrs (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). The flight continues to Singapore at 1515 hrs (Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays) / 1510 hrs (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), arriving back in Singapore at 1840 hrs.

Jetstar will operate the route with a single-class Airbus A320 jet, configured with 180 seats.

Singapore – Auckland to end 21 July 2014

Jetstar also revealed it will end its Singapore – Auckland service in July 2014. The airline cited poor performance for terminating the route, currently operated using a 2-class Airbus A330-200.

The move will mean the loss of a low cost, nonstop option when flying between both cities, with travellers now having to connect in Australia instead. Singapore Airlines will be the sole operator on the route, although this will change if Air New Zealand receives regulatory approval for a strategic alliance that will see the kiwi carrier return to Singapore.
