Sheraton Opens In Melbourne

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has returned its Sheraton brand to Melbourne after a 9-year absence. Housed in a 31-storey building on Little Collins Street, the new Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is the latest property to open as part of the company’s expansion in Australia and Oceania.

174 guestrooms and suites are designed to be a retreat from the buzz of the city. All accommodations feature the brand’s signature Sweet Sleeper Bed, marble bathroom with separate bathtub and rainforest shower, interactive flatscreen television, iPod docking station and high-speed internet access, with other amenities including a workstation with direct-dial telephone, electronic safe and minibar.

An all-day dining restaurant, Little Collins Street Kitchen, serves up contemporary international cuisine, with buffet and a la carte items available. The Terrace Bar presents a mix of cocktails, wines and spirits from its rooftop location overlooking the city.

Sheraton Melbourne Hotel also has 6 meeting rooms for business travellers, able to host groups of between 12 and 400 people. A heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre and spa complete the recreational and wellness facilities.

The first of 5 new Sheratons to open in Oceania in 2014, the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel will be joined by Fiji’s Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island, the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort, Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel & Bungalows in Samoa and the Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa.
