Cathay Pacific Announces Zurich Flights

Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific has announced the launch of direct service to Zurich in 2015, confirming industry speculation it is to serve the Swiss city as part of an ongoing European expansion.

Scheduled to begin on 29 March 2015 subject to government approval, flight CX 383 will depart Hong Kong at 0015 hrs daily, arriving in Zurich at 0655 hrs. The return flight, CX 382, takes off from Switzerland at 1330 hrs for an early morning arrival into Hong Kong at 0645 hrs one day later. The Oneworld member will deploy a 4-class Boeing 777-300ER on the route, configured with 6 First, 53 Business, 34 Premium Economy and 182 Economy Class seats.

Flight timings allow for convenient connections in both directions to and from Greater China, where the carrier will also be able to leverage on traffic feed from affiliate Dragonair. Cathay Pacific already enjoys a significant presence in Europe and the addition of Zurich will help meet demand for both business and leisure travel between Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Travellers will benefit from the greater choice when flying between both cities. The route is currently served by SWISS, which operates a daily service using a 3-class Airbus A340-300.
