Cebu Pacific To Launch Flights To Sydney, Kuwait

Cebu Pacific Air, the Philippines’ largest low cost carrier, has announced it will launch flights from Manila to Sydney and Kuwait later this year in a continued build up of its long-haul operations to compete against legacy rival Philippine Airlines.

Manila – Kuwait City

From 2 September 2014, the airline will begin 3 times weekly Manila – Kuwait City service. Flight 5J 7694 will depart Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 2130 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, arriving in Kuwait International Airport at 0310 hrs the next morning. The return flight, 5J 7695, takes off from Kuwait at 0440 hrs to land back in Manila at 1930 hrs.

Manila – Sydney

Starting a week later on 9 September 2014, Cebu Pacific’s Sydney flight, 5J 7295, will depart Manila at 0015 hrs and arrive in Sydney at 1005 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The aircraft turns around to operate the return 5J 7296 flight, taking off from Kingsford Smith International Airport at 1135 hrs to land back at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 1730 hrs.

Both routes will be operated by Cebu Pacific’s all-economy, 436-seat Airbus A330-300 jets. When launched, they will become the first and only nonstop, low-cost connections between the Philippines, Australia and Kuwait, targeting leisure traffic and the large overseas Filipino communities. The airline currently flies to Dubai with the widebody jets and is looking to operate flights between the Philippines and North America.
