Ethiopian Airlines Plans Dublin, Los Angeles Service

Ethiopian Airlines has unveiled plans to launch flights to Dublin and Los Angeles. When it begins from June 2015, the African carrier and Star Alliance member will provide the only direct connection between Africa, Ireland and the US west coast.

While flight timings have not been revealed, the airline has confirmed the service will be operated 3 times a week with the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft is configured in a 2-class layout, with the carrier touting its greatly reduced noise, higher cabin air humidity and spacious cabin interior.

Ethiopian Airlines has secured fifth-freedom rights for the Dublin-Los Angeles sector, returning a nonstop connection for travellers flying between both cities since Aer Lingus ended flights. Travellers flying the full journey to Africa will enjoy convenient connections on the airline’s extensive pan-African network covering 49 destinations.

Dublin becomes the airline’s 11th European destination and Los Angeles will be its 4th point in the Americas, growing its international network to 85 destinations on 5 continents.
