Park Hyatt Arrives In Hainan Island

Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s most premium brand, Park Hyatt, arrived in Sanya this week with the opening of the new Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort. Situated on a stunning inlet a short drive from Yalong Bay, the resort is China’s fifth Park Hyatt and the brand’s 35th property worldwide.

207 luxurious guestrooms, including 26 suites and 17 villas, are amongst the largest on the island and enjoy unadulterated views of the South China Sea. As with Park Hyatt properties worldwide, each features clean design lines and neutral colour tones, with stylish furnishings including a comfortable bed topped with sumptuous linens, marble bath, flatscreen television, wireless internet access, separate work area and a spacious balcony.

A selection of 8 restaurants and bars named after rooms within a large residence offer guests ample dining options. Dining Room is the resort’s main restaurant, with private dining available at Cellar, it’s cozy extension. Arguably the property’s most impressive venue, Tea House occupies a traditional Chinese-style building featuring a mezzanine floor and high ceiling strung with myriad birdcage, creating a Chinoiserie environment in which to enjoy the premium Chinese tea selection and afternoon tea. Bath House, Pool House and Pool Bar serve up comfort food in a casual dining environment, while the Library and Terrace presents a menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that guests may enjoy to the ocean vistas.

Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort is poised to take advantage of Hainan Island’s growing popularity as a MICE destination with 8 unique, residential-style event venues capable of hosting private parties to glamorous product launches. These include Chamber, the largest indoor space comprising a separate reception area, open kitchen and dining area, the art-lined Gallery and the intimate Salons. Ranging from 40 to over 330 square meters, each features an abundance of natural light, outdoor terraces and state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, while atmospheric outdoor events can be had at the 600-square meter lawn in front of Pool House.

Recreational options include 5 swimming pools, fitness center and yoga studio, together with the Camp Hyatt kids club to keep younger guests occupied. The spa, located by the resort’s private lake and accessed by buggy, is due to open later this year and will feature a main, 2-storey building and 8 freestanding villas around an open-air courtyard, offering benefit-driven treatments that incorporate proven Traditional Chinese Medicine practices.
