Guangzhou To Host Star Cruises’ SuperStar Virgo In 2016

Asian cruise operator Star Cruises has announced the year-round deployment of its flagship SuperStar Virgo to Guangzhou’s Nansha port in 2016.

The 75,338-GRT ship will offer 2 sailings per week from southern China’s largest city. She will depart on Fridays for a 2-night weekend cruise to Hong Kong, while a longer 5-night voyage ventures further south to Halong Bay, Danang and Sanya. Both itineraries may also be combined for a 7-night sailing, with added flexibility of embarking in Hong Kong or Sanya.

Complementing the new homeporting, the onboard entertainment has been revamped for the Chinese market, with headline performances by music artistes from Hong Kong and Taiwan including Richie Ren, Andy Hui, Michael Wong, Tiger Huang, Michael Tse, William So, Edwin Siu, Johnny Yip and Bo Luk each week. The entertainment offering also includes a new illusionist show and Broadway-style musical “Memory Lane”.

SuperStar Virgo will also feature “BEATSHIP by ZOUK,” a one-of-a-kind party onboard in collaboration with award-winning lifestyle club ZOUK. Unique to Star Cruises and the region, the party will boast DJ-spun music, live performances, a distinct clientele and an incomparable atmosphere at-sea.
