Wizz Air Continues Growth With New Routes

European low cost carrier Wizz Air has announced the addition of 3 new destinations from its Budapest hub. The airline is to bolster its links to the UK by starting a twice-weekly Liverpool service, connect Iceland with the Hungarian capital and take advantage of the summer leisure travel season with a weekly flight to Ibiza.

 

Budapest – Liverpool

Beginning 23 March 2016, the carrier will fly to Liverpool from Budapest, becoming the only operator on the route. Flight  W6 2211 will depart Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport at 1650 hrs on Wednesdays and Sundays arriving at John Lennon Airport at 1845 hrs, with return flight W6 2212 taking off at 1915 hrs for a 2240 hrs back in Hungary.

 

Budapest – Reykjavik

Building on the success of its flights from Warsaw, Reykjavik will see a twice-weekly Budapest service from Wizz Air commencing 30 March 2016. Every Wednesday and Sunday, flight W6 2427 will take off at 1355 hrs from Budapest bound for Iceland, landing at Keflavik International Airport at 1645 hrs. The return service, W6 2428, departs Reykjavik at 1725 hrs to arrive back at the Hungarian city at 2355 hrs.

 

Budapest – Ibiza

From 18 June 2016, the airline will also add a weekly service to Ibiza in time for the busy summer season. Flight W6 2381 takes off from Ferenc Liszt International Airport every Saturday at 2125 hrs to touch down at Ibiza Airport at 0015 hrs the next day. The aircraft turns around to operate flight W6 2382, departing the Spanish party island at 0055 hrs and arriving in Budapest at 0335 hrs.

 

All 3 routes will be operated by Wizz Air’s 180-seat Airbus A320 jets.
