Harmony Of The Seas Entertainment Line-up Unveiled

Royal Caribbean International has unveiled the entertainment line-up for its newest and hottest ship yet, Harmony of the Seas. Currently in the final stages of construction in France and debuting in May 2016 in Europe, the vessel is promising a high level of innovation that will offer guests a comprehensive performance and activity ensemble unlike anything ever seen before in one place.

Headline Shows at the Royal Theater

A spectacular, state-of-the-art space utilizing the latest performance venue technology, the 1,380-seat Royal Theater will be home to 2 headline shows presented by Royal Caribbean Productions. The all-new “Grease” has been specially adapted for its stage debut at sea with original choreography, costumes and aerial elements paired to a soundtrack of familiar songs from the acclaimed 1978 movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. “Columbus, The Musical” is an original production featuring breathtaking and revolutionary set design, with a plot centered around the imagined history of Marvin Columbus, a fictional, down-on-his-luck distant cousin of Christopher, who sets sail on a madcap voyage of discovery across the Atlantic to the Caribbean.

An Enhanced AquaTheater

Unique to the Oasis-class ships, the AquaTheater on Harmony of the Seas will boast new aerial capabilities to elevate the thrilling high-diving, acrobatic entertainment repertoire. A pair of 10-meter high platforms combined with the largest and deepest freshwater pool at-sea set the stage for new shows “The Fine Line”, a 360-degree immersive show of high-flying feats and mind-blowing stunts by some of the world’s best extreme-sport athletes, as well as comedy dive show “Hideaway Heist” set in a swanky 1950s holiday resort where performers and guests look to solve the crime of a century.

The Future of Ice Shows

Having pioneered ice shows on ships, Royal Caribbean International is taking it a step further into the future with stunning multimedia visuals, audio and advanced technology provide a sight and sound theatrical extravaganza. The surface of the ice rink in Studio B transforms before guests, creating a backdrop of ultra-high definition video blending fantasy with reality for “1887”, an original production set in Paris on February 14 1887 on the frozen River Seine. Also new is the “iSkate Showcase”, where Royal Caribbean’s talented skaters put their best blade forward in a dazzling showcase of their very best moves set to their own favorite tunes.

Fan Favorites

Harmony of the Seas will see Royal Caribbean International collaborate again with escape room specialist Puzzle Break for “Escape the Rubicon”. Taking place in a dedicated space designed in partnership with ShowFX Inc., players have 60 minutes of life support to find the hidden clues, solve puzzles and escape. Guests may also partake in the “Red Party” with its DJs, surprise performances, special effects and technology, or look out for the pop-up “Stowaway Piano” around the ship.

Theme Nights and Parades at the Royal Promenade

The tradition of Royal Caribbean’s signature theme nights and parades continues with the “Totally Awesome 90s”, an evolution of the much-loved “Promenade 70s” party that transports guests back to the awesome decade with a soundtrack dominated by teen pop, dance-pop and the growing popularity of hip hop, live pop-up performances and crazy neon track suits. With “Let’s Celebrate”, the line is touting what it claims as the ultimate celebration of celebrations, combining Halloween, birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve in a wild and crazy parade that’s truly unforgettable. Guests can also belt out tunes at the On Air Club, revel in a symphony of brass brilliance with the ship’s own horn-led, 9-piece orchestra “High Cs Horns”, or take in live comedy and music at brand new nighttime hotspot The Attic.

Carrying 5,497 guests at double occupancy and weighing in at 227,000-GRT, Harmony of the Seas is the world’s largest cruise ship and the third vessel of the Oasis-class. An architectural marvel, she will be launched in Spring 2016 and sail an inaugural Mediterranean season before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to her native USA to operate in the Caribbean Sea.
