ms Eurodam Debuts New Holland America Line Upgrades

Holland America Line’s ms Eurodam returned to service last December following a scheduled 14-day drydock refurbishment in the Bahamas that saw her debut several new concepts designed to improve the onboard guest experience.

Enhanced Suite Accommodations

The ship is the first in the fleet to receive enhancements to the suites, which saw the main living area refreshed with new furniture, carpet, wall coverings and linen. Complementing the new look is a state-of-the-art interactive television system featuring large flatscreen LED televisions with complimentary on-demand movies and access to shipboard information, while a new USB outlet has been added to the bed’s headboard, together with LED bedside reading lamps, upgraded electrical outlets and a lighted closet rod. Neptune and Pinnacle suites also received a Bose Bluetooth speaker. Each suite’s bathroom also gained a new vanity area incorporating contemporary mirrors with integrated LED lighting, stylish floor tiles and a nightlight.

Reimagined Dining Concepts

ms Eurodam is now home to Holland America Line’s first Gallery Bar. The sophisticated venue replaces the former Northern Lights disco and serves an exclusive cocktail menu by celebrity mixologist Dale DeGroff, while the decor – comprising an eclectic and whimsical mix of artwork including portraits, landscapes, still-life and abstract pieces – was designed to engage guests and facilitate conversations in a relaxing environment. By May 2018, the concept will be introduced on the ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Noordam, ms Westerdam, ms Oosterdam and ms Zuiderdam.

The traditional casual Lido buffet has been transformed into the new Lido Market. Adopting a marketplace concept with different themed stations offering a select array of items guests can grab on the go or have quickly made-to-order including fresh bakery treats at “Breadboard”, healthy salads and greens from “Wild Harvest”, hometown comfort classics at “Homestead”, exotic global cuisine at “Distant Lands”, continental breakfast or light meals from “Market Central”, complemented by freshly-brewed coffee, tea and juices at “Perk” and finished off by delightful ice creams and desserts from “Sweet Spot”.

New York Pizza, which debuted on ms Nieuw Amsterdam, replaces Slice. True to its name, the pizzeria offers 5 Big Apple-themed thin-crust personal pizzas made-to-order in under 10 minutes, with guests having the option to select their preferred toppings from an extensive list. A selection of side dishes, salads and sweet desserts may also be had to top off each meal.

Entertainment Expands with Lincoln Center Stage and Billboard Onboard

ms Eurodam expands its entertainment offering with the addition of the Lincoln Center Stage and Billboard Onboard.

Partnering the esteemed Lincoln Center, the new Lincoln Center Stage showcases an ensemble of world-class musicians performing multiple chamber music programs nightly. On leisurely sea-days, the ensemble also plays afternoon recitals.

Live musicians (including 2 pianists, a guitarist and a DJ) take the stage at Billboard Onboard. Taking turns performing dynamic shows centered around the music industry as chronicled by Billboard, guests can sing and play along with trivia questions presented on screens throughout the room for an engaging and interactive experience.

The revitalized ms Eurodam currently offers Carribean cruises out of Fort Lauderdale, visiting ports including George Town, Grand Turk, Key West, Ocho Rios, Philipsburg, St. Juan and Holland America Line’s private island destination Half Moon Cay. In March 2016, the ship repositions to Barcelona for her Mediterranean season.
