Swire Hotels Opens East Miami

Following nearly three years of planning and development, Swire Hotels has opened EAST Miami, the property for the luxury lifestyle brand outside of Asia. Part of the USD 1.05 billion Brickell City Centre project from affiliate company Swire Properties, the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Miami close to Miami International Airport and popular districts such as Wynwood, the Design District and South Beach.

Award-winning Miami-based architectural firm Arquitectonica worked on the hotel’s overall design, with specific restaurant and lounge interiors from Studio Collective, while New York’s Clodagh Design was responsible for the guestrooms and public space. Like her Asian sisters, EAST Miami boasts celebrated artwork and installations curated by Indiewalls highlighting the city’s port town characteristics.

Guests can expect convenient and eco-friendly amenities, including keyless entry and paperless check-in and check-out. 352 guestrooms, including 8 suites and 89 residence suites, feature contemporary design and balconies offering views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay. Ranging in size from 28 to 167 square meters, each is furnished with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable bedding, a walk-in rainforest shower accompanied by skin care and beauty products from Australia’s Appelles Apothecary and Lab, complimentary Wi-Fi, and coffee-/tea-making facilities in partnership with local specialty roaster Panther Coffee. In addition to all hotel amenities and services, the one-, two-, and three-bedroom residence suites also offer fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities.

EAST Miami promises exciting additions to the local dining scene with 2 signature restaurants designed by progressive Los Angeles-based design firm, Studio Collective. Swire Hotels partnered Uruguay’s beachside Parador La Huella, currently ranked no. 11 on the list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015, to open Quinto La Huella, where unique fire-cooking methods with a parrilla at the heart of the kitchen, wood-fired ovens fueled with local red and white oak, a sushi counter highlighting Florida’s coastline and an expansive poolside outdoor dining area define the dining experience. The brand’s rooftop space is occupied by Sugar, the Asian-inspired bar and garden serving cocktails and savory shared tapas. Additionally, guests can head to Domain, a lobby café and bar serving freshly brewed Panther Coffee, light bites and a variety of wine and spirits.

Meeting and event planners will find flexible convention spaces and outdoor venues, headlined by The Crush, its 306-square meter ballroom offering 270-degree views of Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami from the 39th floor. Enjoying similar panoramas are smaller rooms Rise and Set, as well as the High Noon boardroom, with all event spaces featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, complimentary Wi-Fi access, cutting-edge audio-visual equipment and technical support. After a day of meetings, guests can unwind at the outdoor pool and deck area showcasing 4 unique pool experiences (lap pool, spa pool, cold plunge and hot tub), or workout at BEAST (Body by EAST), accessible 24 hours a day and featuring the latest Technogym® equipment with a monthly calendar of wellness programming to be launched soon.

EAST Miami joins Swire Hotels’ growing portfolio of design-focused hotels, including the EAST Hong Kong and The Upper House in Hong Kong, EAST Beijing and The Opposite House in the Chinese capital and Chengdu’s The Temple House.
