Star Cruises Announces More Cruise Options For Shanghai Season

Star Cruises has announced more itinerary options for the upcoming Shanghai homeporting season of the Superstar Virgo. The 13-deck ship, dubbed the fastest in Asia, will sail a series of longer 7-night round trip cruises from Shanghai, while also offering fly-cruise holidays with the designation of Yokohama as an interport.

7-night Golden Sea Route

In addition to previously announced 5-night sailings, Superstar Virgo’s new 7-night itinerary will see the ship make port calls to 4 Japanese ports and offer land tour opportunities to Kyoto and Kagoshima. Arriving in Japan after a day at sea, guests first immerse themselves in the culinary culture of Osaka before experiencing the energy of Tokyo, a short train ride away from Yokohama. The port of Shimizu serves as a gateway to the country’s tallest peak, Mount Fuji, while guests onboard the ship enjoy the sights of Kyushu when she calls at Kagoshima.

Fly-cruise Holiday Options

Star Cruises is also offering highly flexible segmented cruise journeys with embarkation in either Shanghai or Yokohama. Guests may board the Superstar Virgo for a 3-night cruise voyage and combine it with a post-cruise stay in Tokyo, or fly to the Japanese capital for a pre-cruise programme and return to Shanghai by sea on a 4-night voyage.

Superstar Virgo will be homeported in Shanghai from July through November 2017. In conjunction with her Japanese itineraries, she will offer an immersive onboard experience for guests with local delicacies including “takoyaki” and “sushigaku”, enrichment activities such as flower arrangement and origami classes, as well as popular Japanese merchandise in-stock at the ship’s boutiques.
