Royal Caribbean Confirms Symphony Of The Seas Name, Deployment

Royal Caribbean International has confirmed its fourth Oasis-class ship will be named Symphony of the Seas, while also unveiling deployment details and information of its upcoming PortMiami development.

Mediterranean Debut, Caribbean Year-Round Deployment

Currently under construction in St. Nazaire, Symphony of the Seas will be delivered to the line in April 2018. Like her sister Harmony of the Seas, the ship will spend her inaugural summer season cruising the Mediterranean and visiting Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Provence, Florence, Civitavecchia and Naples. She then crosses the Atlantic Ocean in November 2018 to Miami, from where 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries will be operated year-round.

Crown of Miami

Royal Caribbean has also broke ground on the new PortMiami Terminal A. Dubbed the Crown of Miami, the facility is designed by architecture firm Broadway Malyan to resemble the shape of a crown when viewed from the water, the “M” of “Miami” when viewed from the east or west, and “waves rising or ships passing” when viewed side-on and will become home to both Symphony of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.
