New Business, Premium Economy Seats For Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines is set to boost its product offering with the introduction of a new Business and Premium Economy class seat. 8 of the airline’s Airbus A330-300s are set to be reconfigured from an all-Economy to a 3-class layout and refitted, with 105 Economy seats making way for 18 Business and 24 Premium Economy seats.

The airline has selected the proven Thompson Vantage XL business class seats, offering direct-aisle access and converting into a full-flat bed. The seat also boasts a Pneumatic Comfort System allowing its firmness to be adjusted, while additional features include a headphone hook, side console and footwell with mood lighting. In Premium Economy, the Zodiac 5810 seats will offer a 38-inch pitch, 19-inch width and a 8-inch recline, together with an integrated legrest.

USB and electrical ports will be available to every seat across all classes. Inflight entertainment content will be delivered via individual touch screen monitors (18.5 inches in Business, 13.3 inches in Premium Economy and 10.1 inches in Economy). Passengers may also access the inflight wifi to stream entertainment using the myPAL Player application.

Philippine Airlines will roll-out the first reconfigured A330 in June 2017, with Honolulu the first destination to be served by the aircraft. This will be followed by Melbourne in July, Sydney in August, Singapore in September, Tokyo (Haneda) in October, Tokyo (Narita) in November and Osaka in December.
